BUNKER ARCHEOLOGY EMERGED FROM THE PARADOX OF TWO PERSPECTIVES: 1]THE WESTERN NEOLIBERAL STEREOTYPES AROUND THE COCA PLANT AND 2] THE INTERNAL STRENGHT OF AN INDIGENOUS SYSTEM OF KNOWLEDGE IN RELATION TO PLANTS THAT DOESN’T NEED TO BE EXHIBITED TO REVEAL HIS POWER. THE INSTALLATION IS COMPOSED BY MILITARY SACKS PAINTED FROM A POST-MODERN PERSPECTIVE [IT’S ALL ABOUT THE SURFACE] WITH PUBLICITARY SLOGANS, IN RELATION WITH THE STRUCTURAL COMPOSITION IN THE INTERIOR OF THE SACKS: COCA PLANT LEAVES PROTECTED BY TRADITIONAL HEALERS THROUGH A PROCESS OF ‘RITUAL HARMONIZATION’. THE SACKS WERE ORGANIZED AS DIFFERENT SCULPTURES IN THE FORMS OF BUNKERS, ALSO AS HANGING PAINTINGS, AND AS A SUIT BUILD OF SMALL SACKS FILLED WITH COCA PLANT LEAVES.
THE MOMENT OF EXHIBITION ‘UUS YAHTX’ HAD THE COLLABORATION OF THE INDIGENOUS GUARD FROM THE INDIGENOUS REGIONAL COUNCIL OF CAUCA, WITH THE KOKONUKO AND YANAKUNA GUARDS PARTICIPATING IN THE OCCUPATION OF THE ‘FOYER’ OF THE THEATER GUILLERMO VALENCIA; A SYMBOL OF THE COLONIAL CENTER OF THE CITY OF POPAYAN, COLOMBIA. THE EXHIBITION PRESENTED THE PERFORMANCE ‘THE KISS’, THE PARTICIPATION OF THE INDIGENOUS GUARD, THE INSTALLATION AND THE SCULPTURES, ARTICULATED AROUND A PLANT OF COCA IN THE CENTER OF THE SPACE.
